For the new hall at THW Neuhausen auf den Fildern, the artist Lukas Derow has designed a mural relief for the stairwell. This work of art entitled “lichTgescHWindigkeit” (Speed of Light) was completed in the summer of 2016.

It makes an impressive reference to the particular duties of the assistants at this local THW group. In addition to being ready to engage in rescue and recovery, they are especially involved in large-scale lighting of accident sites and other places where they are deployed in darkness. All of which is portrayed in this relief down to the tiniest detail in such a way that it exudes a complex vitality in the narrow stairwell.

In addition to printing with ceramic enamel colours on ESG glass and touching up the painting by hand, structural sheet metal and blue LED light were used.
