Opening hours are Monday thru Friday 09:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.

The opening of the Exhibition will be Thursday, 16th of February 2012, 19:00 hrs.
The exhibition shows 14 designs by artists, architects and designers, who participated in a workshop intitiated and organized by Derix Glasstudios Taunusstein, the Architectural Department of the University Torino and the Academy of Arts, Torino. Subject of the workshop had been the modern styles of glass painting in post-industrial buildings.
The designs had been developed for four former industrial buildings, which are also known as the "Cathedrals of Industry", because of their large glass surfaces. The exponents are showing how the change of use and re-design of such buildings are inspiring stained glass designs to explore new paths of design.

Impressive Number of Visitors at the Open Studio days

2011-07-20 - The interest in the open studio days on 16./17 July 2011 was indeed overwhelming. Already the first leaded studio tour had to be split because of the high number of participants. Even though the artist's presentations were transmitted by video to other rooms of the Studios, the presentation room was overcrowded.
We like to thank all the visitors, artists and speakers for coming to the Studios and for their interest in our work.

Reincarnation of a Cathedral

2011-07-11 - In 2005, the Holy Trinity Church and former Cathedral of the Dioceses of Northern China had been returned to the care of church authorities. Since 3 1/2 years conservation work is ongoing and transforming the Holy Trinity church to its former glory. Since none of the stained glass windows were existent anymore, during the restoration new stained glass windows are being made. The first three, the altar windows, had now been designed by Dr. John Clark, perfectly fitting architecture and environment, and been executed by Derix Glasstudios Taunusstein. The cathedral in Shanghai will not be re-opened until the end of the year, however, the installed shining, figurative altar windows are already spreading the light of hope.
